Hair loss is part of everyday life. Hair clogs your shower drain and constantly accumulates on your floor or carpet. On average, we lose about 80 hairs per day. If you start losing much more than that or if you notice that they don’t grow back, you should probably start thinking about what causes this problem, but especially what you need to do to eliminate or drastically reduce it. Here’s how to deal with hair loss.

10. Recognize the problem

“Hair is made of protein, which makes it essential to eat protein-rich foods every day, including at least one serving of protein for breakfast and dinner (about 120 g),” says Anabel.

7. Complex carbohydrates are essential

“They provide our hair with the energy they need to grow. Eat healthy carbohydrates (fresh fruit, raw vegetables or whole wheat crackers).”

That being said, Anabel explained that if you lose your hair because of something other than food, such as stress or illness, changing what you eat won’t fix the problem.

6. Take supplements

“As non-essential tissues, hair’s nutritional needs are unique – and a supplement can be very useful in increasing the levels of vitamins and minerals available for your follicles, but they must go along with a healthy diet.”

Anabel recommends looking for the following ingredients: iron, vitamin C, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, copper, zinc, selenium and essential amino acids, l-lysine and l-methionine.

5. Coconut

Here, we are not talking about the entire coconut, but more about the benefits of its oil. Coconut milk contains proteins, essential fats and minerals, for example, potassium and iron. Regular use can strengthen brittle hair.

Apply coconut oil or cream to areas where hair is thinner. Leave the cream all night, and in the morning, wash it out with water.

4. Be careful when brushing your hair

“Avoid hairstyles that put too much pressure on hair and hair follicles,” according to Anabel like tight ponytails. She also recommends avoiding heavy styling creams and serums, as they can add unnecessary weight to hair.

3. Eggs

Like onions and garlic, eggs are another high source of sulphur. It is therefore a really good food to promote hair growth and reduce your anxiety related to baldness.

Take an egg white and mix it with a teaspoon of olive oil. Mix together so it becomes a paste and apply the mixture to the entire scalp and hair. Leave the mixture on the hair for about 15 to 20 minutes and then wash with water and mild shampoo.

2. Hibiscus

Hibiscus flowers are perfect for conditioning hair and reducing the appearance of dandruff. In men, it can play an essential role in reducing baldness.

Mix a few hibiscus flowers with coconut oil and apply to the scalp for 2 hours. Rinse and wash with cold water!

Losing your hair can cause stress, but Anabel explains that it is extremely important to realize how common hair loss is for females – and that if you experience it, you are not alone in this situation and that there is nothing embarrassing about it.

“One product alone is not enough to cure hair loss – you also need to monitor your general health, diet, optimize the health of your scalp and the condition of growing hair, but most importantly do not despair since because of the nature of the hair growth cycle, it takes at least 6 weeks to see an improvement.”
