Although tea bags are bought to consume, there are different uses for them that could change how you live your daily life. They will not only be used to brew your morning, noon and night beverage but will also be used for daily cleaning. Don’t throw them away after infusing them, save them for all the household uses we’ve listed below.
1. Add flavor to your oatmeal
Do you find the taste of your oatmeal a little bland? Add some flavor to it with your tea! After brewing it, keep your tea bag and reuse it in the water that you will boil to prepare your oatmeal. For the best taste, we recommend a chai or spicy cinnamon tea!
2. Cook other food with it!
In addition to your oatmeal, you can add flavor to other foods by reusing your previously brewed tea bags. For example, if you put a jasmine or chamomile tea bag in your rice, it will taste divine! You can also try it with green tea and pasta. You won’t regret it!
3. Scare away mice
Are you struggling with mice in your house? You should know that mice hate the smell of tea. So, you can simply keep your infused tea bags and place them in your cupboards, closets and other places where these vermin are a problem. Place them directly in front of the place where you suspect they’re coming! You shouldn’t see a mouse in your home anytime soon.
4. Condition your hair
Tea has different virtues, especially for your hair. If you want to counter dandruff and stimulate your hair growth, brew a very strong tea using 2 green tea bags and 2 cups of boiling water. Let it cool down a little, then after washing your hair, spray your mixture on your scalp and massage it. Cover your hair with a plastic cap, then rinse your hair with cold water after 30 minutes.
5. Shine wood surfaces
Do you have wooden floors or furniture that need polishing? Used tea bags can work wonders in this area! The tannin in black tea gives back the wood its natural shine. Simply swipe your old tea bags (damp, but not soak) over your wood surface and wipe the surface with a cloth.
6. Neutralize garbage odors
The smell of a garbage can is always unpleasant. An easy way to remedy this problem is to place a few used, but dry tea bags, at the bottom of your trash can. These will neutralize the unpleasant odors in no time!
7. In the car
Place dry tea bags in your car in various places; in the glove compartment, under the passenger seat or behind the back seat headrests. You can even use different kinds. Teabags emit a nice-smelling odor that covers moisture, mold and bad smells in the car. They are much more effective than the car air fresheners found in stores because they can last up to 7 months.
8. To clean your home
Infuse a few tea bags in boiling water to get a natural cleaning product that smells good. You can clean your mirrors and windows all while decreasing your kitchen.
9. For your eyes
Put some tea bags in cold water for 2 minutes and place them on your closed eyes for a few minutes. You will eliminate redness and tiredness around your eyes. Also, your eyes will depuff and your wrinkles will disappear.
10. Air freshener
They are perfect for the car, for the house, in your stinky shoes, in your closet. You can add some wherever you like.
11. For you blemishes
Use cold green tea bags to clean your face. They are great face cleansers and are very delicate for your skin. This way, even people with sensitive skin can use them.
12. For your sunburns
Place some cold tea bags on the parts of your body that are burned by the sun or on small lesions. The tea will automatically alleviate the pain. It also works for irritated skin, eczema and insect bites.
13. For your chapped lips
Soak the tea bags in hot water. Then, stick them against your lips and scrub for 5 minutes.
